Opportunities

Did you have water in your basement this fall? You probably guessed it was a wet year, but did you know it was the third wettest year on record for our state?

We are putting the finishing touches on another great remodel project. This is a basement that was flooded in September. After working to correct the area responsible for leaking into the slab floor and destroying the carpet and lower sheetrock, we have new walls, new doorways, and paint all around completed. New floors will finish the project and an updated video of photos will be posted shortly.

Meanwhile, we are looking for talented females to join our team. Do you know of anyone with the  special qualities of precision, attention to detail, and skills with construction tools? Please send them our way! Call me at 404-985-9716.

Home Remodeling Payback

If you are thinking about projects to improve the value of your home this coming year, consider the advice of this article:

Apparently, like the reduced value of our homes, the return on investment in remodeling is lower now too. However, there are some bright spots that I gleaned from this review...

1) Instead of massively expensive upgrades in the kitchen and bath, look for ways to inexpensively make fresh changes. Light fixtures, faucets and towel racks, a fresh coat of paint and new mirror can make a world of difference. (We can get this done for you in a matter of a day or two and definitely within a reasonable budget!)
2) Make space...nothing sells a home better (or makes you feel more in control of your own stuff) than decluttered, organized closets and quality space planning. If nothing else, you will save yourself hours of looking for misplaced items!
3) Curb appeal is the most important feature to get potential buyers through the door. If resale is your goal, be thinking of hiring a professional to spruce up the exterior home and landscape. Professional landscaping can increase the value of your home by up to 14% of it's current value. A new entry door and hardware, changes to your entryway, cleaning up or replacing rotted trim, or painting accents can all make a substantial impact for a lot less money.

Landscape plans start at $150 from our sister company, Georgia Gardenscapes. Installing one of our plans will give you more free time and lower your yearly maintenance cost and use of chemicals.

2010 has a lot of promise to it. Make it more comfortable, enjoyable and save money in your repair, remodeling or landscaping projects.  Call us today - we can do it! Professionally, of course, but with a woman's touch.

Kick-Off!

Inept with a hammer? No power tools on site (even if you did know what to do with them)? Travel frequently? Maybe you just are not interested in addressing those inevitable home projects.

From noisy toilets, to the draft from your windows, out-of-kilter doors, a new garden bed and more...these are just a few of the home projects CHIX with TOOLS can do for you!

Serving Cherokee and Cobb county, our philosophy is to approach your needs as if it were our own home. The Chicks and I will ensure that all your projects are completed with the highest quality materials and attention to detail, on time, and with spotless cleanup afterward.

Just the way my Mom used to do it, 25 years ago. She fixed everything in our house (my Dad was always traveling when something broke!) Fortunate to have inherited Mom's natural talents, I have put them to work helping others who don't have the ability or the inclination to tackle home repair, remodeling and landscape projects.

Call us to relieve your next repair headache, or to finally complete a project that stalled out.
